Looking back at the SME digitalization roadshow in Brno

On Thursday, April 16, the 7th edition of the SME Digitalization Roadshow took place at CEITEC BUT in Brno. Among the speakers was PHARIS CEO Tomáš Hradský—who went straight to the point: Not having an MES in manufacturing today is not just a limitation. It’s a roadblock to further development. .

In his presentation, “No MES? Then Forget Lean, AI, and the Smart Factory,” the following points were highlighted:

  • why it doesn’t make sense to address advanced manufacturing management concepts without MES
  • the difference between basic and advanced MES—and why an ERP module is not enough
  • the most common misconceptions companies face when pursuing digitalization

In the afternoon panel discussion, he joined other experts to expand on a topic that ultimately determines outcomes: How to get the most out of digitally managed production:

  • data is not the goal, but a tool
  • the key lies in context and proper use within processes
  • real savings emerge when data is turned into decisions

In other words: it’s not enough to collect and visualize data. Production needs to be managed based on it—ideally in an automated way. .

We would like to thank the organizers for a perfectly prepared and inspiring event: National Centre for Industry 4.0, CzechInvest, CEITEC – Central European Institute of Technology, and RICAIP Testbed Brno.

If you’re figuring out how to move your production from “we see the data” to “we manage based on data,” we’d be happy to connect—perhaps over a no-obligation consultation focused on your specific situation.
