THK RHYTHM AUTOMOTIVE CZECH, A.S.

THK RHYTM AUTOMOTIVE is an exemplary example of maintaining a manufacturing tradition and experience dating back to post-war Czechoslovakia. Today, this manufacturing company, located in the picturesque landscape of Czech Canada, is part of the multinational THK Group and is a leading European manufacturer of chassis and steering components for passenger cars and, to a lesser extent, trucks. The plant includes a development and testing centre that focuses on chassis parts and steering joints. Up to 40 million joints for steering rods, wheel suspension arms, vertical wheel joints, etc. are produced here annually.

Solution

The MES PHARIS production information system plays the role of a full-fledged MES system for effective control and monitoring of metalworking operations using direct communication with CNC machines. The quality solution based on the integration of the MES PHARIS production client with the local PALSTAT quality system also plays an important role at THK. The investor also sees a significant contribution in the strong electronic support for visual management and the on-line availability of specific reports and indicators directly at the workplaces. In the area of material logistics, MES PHARIS has replaced the paper-based KANBAN solution, thus achieving efficient management of the import and removal of materials and products from individual workplaces. For selected products, THK uses an integrated 1st piece inspection process, which significantly increases the quality of production and traceability of the prescribed inspection steps.
