Traceability
Arms and ammunition labeling share common goals. Both serves as a classification system for recording purposes, which then serve to monitor the usage, transport, storage and control of the quality of weapons and ammunition. The foregoing is making weapons and ammunition labeling critical and very important in terms of global control of weapons and ammunition.

The manufacturing execution system PHARIS offers the ability to identify and trace the movement of the product or components to the point of origin. The place of origin can be a specific production batch, a production line and time information, a production hall or a worker.

Tools for identification and traceability:
  • The user can uniquely identify a particular product at all stages of production using its identification number, order number, process number, batch number, and production order number. Each component of the product is also referenced, whether material, process, measurement, or operator, and all related activities up to the final output.
  • Unambiguous product identification.
  • Linkage with relevant drawings, specifications, revisions, and quality records.
  • Linkage to quality control staff.
  • Linking to the used measuring instruments, gauges and tools that were used during the manufacturing process.
On the first (production) operation, a piece entry is created to which the piece code read is assigned. This piece entry will be supplemented with information on the relevant registration for the operation (to establish machine, user, technological, packaging, quality, etc.) data. In the following operations, the code of this piece is loaded and the information from the next registration for the operation is again assigned to the record of the piece. This information is subsequently available in the genealogy of the piece.

The above-mentioned manufacturing and assembly operations are part of one production order. A uniquely identifiable piece can also enter other production orders than those in which it was created. In these production orders, the piece enters as an input component (semi-finished product). The final piece then carries information about all the pieces of blanks that enter it.

Quality control and audit institutions
The arms industry, and therefore the production of ammunition, is subject to a very strict level of control worldwide. In the Czech Republic, defensive standards are in force. Their use is regulated by Act No. 309/2000 Coll. defensive standardization, cataloging and state verification of the quality of products and services designed to ensure the defense of the state.

Mass production of ammunition
