Alarm system

The alarm system is mainly used for an immediate automatic warning of the problem inside manufacturing process.

The effective using of the alarm system has the following results:
  • Reducing of unproductive time, increasing of OEE,
  • reducing of scrap production,
  • ensuring of compliance of the technological discipline,
  • ensuring of compliance of check plans,
  • minimizing the difference between the planned and real production time,
  • optimal allocation of human resources at the individual workplaces, for instance during setting is not necessary the presence of the operator, who can be allocated to another workplace, etc.,
  • optimization of professions within the shifts.
MES PHARIS® allows the user´s definition of alarms conditions that determine what values and at what limits should cause the alarm. It is also possible to define the recipient and the way of alarm notification (SMS, visualization screens, email, lighthouses etc.)

Users of MES PHARIS® usually have set the following alarm conditions (warning):
  • The technological alarm is outside of the defined limits. System PHARIS® in each cycle monitors the values of selected technological parameters (for example temperature, pressure, size of injection cushion) and compares whether the values are within tolerance. The values can be set for each production preparation for each product,
  • cycle outside the bound,
  • production delay - a warning to the growing difference between the normalized cycle and real value of cycle (+/-),
  • failure of the equipment, machine,
  • nearing the end of manufacturing operation at the given workplace,
  • several consecutive scraps,
  • exceed time of setting,
  • registration of operator to the deflection. Usual use of this alarm is on performance-evaluated positions.

Retrospective evaluation of alarms is one of the bases for determining corrective preventative actions.


Notifications are the extension of alarms and primarily are intended for the recipient on the shop floor. The notification is usually used through the large visualization screens, emails or SMS.

Manual notifications that are triggered by the operator through the production terminal are typically used for calling the professions:
  • Operator,
  • handler,
  • setter,
  • controller.
Automatic notification are triggered based on predefined conditions:
  • Failure of compliance the standards - warns about the delay in meeting the standards of the setter,
  • upcoming the exchange of the tool - highlights the upcoming exchange of tool,
  • increasing of the production delay - highlights the growing trend in the production delay,
  • failure to comply with the reaction time - highlights the long reaction time at the calling of the first group of notification.

Escalation system

On the alarms and notifications can be established the escalation system. In case that the alarm/notification is not confirmed by the required person, the system automatically transfers the generated alarm further to a supervisor, who is defined in the escalaton process.
